Legacy Barn Restoration

This historic barn in New Harmony, UT. had settled and shifted over decades, leaving the structure at risk of falling down. The goal was to stabilize, realign, and restore the original structure without losing what made it worth saving.

Tim engineered and installed a custom shoring system to safely support the structure while it was gradually pulled back into alignment. A telephone pole retaining wall, steel collar ties, and new gable siding rounded out the restoration.

Seven weeks later, the ridge was level, the stable sound, and the barn looked better than ever… And the ridge line rose 10 inches on the north side and 14 inches on the south.

This project hit Tim's sweet spot — a genuine engineering challenge, hands-on outdoor work, and the satisfaction of bringing something back to life.
